SHOW DETAILS

The 2024 Scotts Valley Motorcycle Show is in the books and was a big success. 130 bikes were on display, a crowded field of several hundred spectators, and 17 beautiful trophies are now on display in the entrants' homes. We're preparing for 2025 and expect a bigger and better show.  More than half of the entries traveled over 40 miles to attend the show, and three entries traveled more than 400 miles. Bikes came to the show from San Francisco, Reno, Nevada, Rancho Cucamonga, CA, San Jose, Oceanside, and Murieta, California.

The Scotts Valley Kiwanis Club, Motocharities, and Motonexus Motorcycle Auctions have partnered to bring you The Scotts Valley Motorcycle Show & Swap Meet.  The 2025 show and swap meet will be hosted on the athletic field at Scotts Valley High School in beautiful Scotts Valley, California. Vintage motorcycle collectors from all over the region will proudly display their exceptional bikes and compete for trophies while collectors offer vintage parts, bikes, and gear at the swap meet.  Bring the whole family for a full day of vintage motorcycles, fabulous local food, and music. This event is for the entire family, making this a true community event for everyone to enjoy.  Scotts Valley is a terrific destination for a weekend getaway.  Check below for hotels, resorts, and RV parks.

With classes for American, British, Italian, Other European, Japanese, Custom/Modified, Competition-Road Racing, RAD, Land Speed, Motocross, Enduro, Trials, Flat Track, Drag Bike, Minibikes, Scooters, and eBikes, there is something for everyone.  Visit the swap meet to find something special for your collection or restoration project.

This event is held on a Public School campus.  There is a no-dogs-allowed and no-alcohol policies in place that the event must enforce.

The Scotts Valley Motorcycle Show welcomes motorcycles in original stock condition, restored, and customized.  Please select the appropriate class for judging when you register.  Trophies will be awarded for First and Second Place in each class.  The best of show will only have one trophy.

The Japanese Class is divided by decade to provide more opportunities for entrants due to the significant differences in each decade.  If you have a Japanese Scrambler, we ask that you enter the Scrambler class.

The Scrambler Class is intended for street-legal bikes that have a high exhaust pipe and other manufacturer features designed for off-road riding.

The Custom and eBike classes have no model year restrictions. Customs can be made by any manufacturer in any year.  We encourage all eBike manufacturers and home-built eBikes to enter the eBike class to display your latest models, innovations, and creativity.  We encourage youth eBike riders to polish and enter their bikes.

The Competition-Road Class is for any bike designed to compete on paved courses.  This would include road racing, drag bikes, etc.

The Competition-Off Road Class is for any bike designed to compete on off-road courses. This would include motocross, hill climbers, enduros, etc.

The Minibike Class is for small bikes with a maximum 10" wheel diameter.  Examples include Taco, Bonanza, Doodle Bug, Go-Devil, Honda Z50, and other bikes of this type.

The Scooter Class is for bikes that typically have a leg shield.  This would include Vespa, Lambretta, Honda Cubs, etc.

The RAD Class is restricted to motorcycles from 1980-1999 that capture the essence of this bodacious era.  We encourage owners and their guests to dress in period-correct attire when displaying in the RAD Class.  The RAD Class is as much about the VIBE as the quality of the motorcycle.  Points are awarded for period-correct attire. For more detail on the RAD class, check out https://www.radwood.com/

Barn Find Unrestored bikes are still in original condition, with original parts, bodywork, and paint, even if they're rusted.  Extra points are awarded to Unrestored bikes that are still operational, licensed to ride, and older is better. Judges will not mark down for replacing tires, spark plugs, and other general maintenance items.  This class is open to all makes and models in any use class.

Signage: Entrants are welcome to bring signage that details the motorcycle's features, historical significance, race history, and provenance.  We ask that signage be kept to nominal sizes so as not to obstruct other bikes on display.  Tool kits, manuals, and other historical accessories may be displayed separately in shadow boxes or any other discrete and creative way.

The show will provide a display plaque identifying the owner, make, model, and year of the bike.

Boards for Center/Side Stands: A limited number of boards will be available to place under your center or side stand.  Look for a bin on the field filled with boards that are painted black.  You are encouraged to bring your own board. WE DO NOT ALLOW BIKES TO USE CENTER OR SIDE STANDS DIRECTLY ON THE LAWN.

Bikes with no stand will need to provide a display stand or box.  Mini bikes may be displayed on elevated stands or small tables.  Please make sure these displays are substantial to avoid accidents.

Motorcycles on display compete for trophies but also for the enjoyment and entertainment of the spectators.  This is a family event; many children are always excited to see the motorcycles.  In many ways, the motorcycle show is educational and inspirational for the children.  Please respect that your display should be appropriate for the entire family.  We encourage entrants to engage with spectators and answer questions.
